How I got into Ohio State University
When did I decide to pursue MS in US?
I have always wanted to do a post graduate degree after my Undergraduate studies. I was confused whether I wanted to do an MBA or pursue a Masters in Computer Science. Working in GREedge’s R&D department made me realize that I am cut out for a technical profession, and that MBA is not my cup of tea. I was backed by a lot of encouragement from my team.
How did I plan my Admissions process?
I planned to apply for Fall 2014. I started preparing for it from January 2013, with GREedge. I gave GRE in the month of August 2013, and TOEFL in the month of December, 2013. Soon after that, I started applying to universities. Let me explain the perks of starting this early:
How to go about your documentation:
Take a lot of time to write your SOP and LOR. These are two things that are overlooked by MS aspirants. They play a very important role in determining your admits and scholarships. If you are keen on scholarships, SOP is where you need to highlight your research interests and projects.
Finally, don’t limit yourself to just the safe admits. Leave some room for life to surprise you too! You could land yourself a Stanford admit, for all you know! Ohio State University was on my ambitious list, and I must say that the joy of getting an ambitious admit knows no bounds.
